About LookForScam

LookForScam is a free tool that helps you judge whether a message, email, or link might be a scam. Paste the suspicious content and the tool points out the classic red flags — each one explained in plain English, so you learn to spot scams yourself rather than relying on a single yes/no answer.

How it works

The text you paste is checked against a library of known scam patterns — pressure and urgency, unusual payment requests, credential and one-time-code harvesting, impersonation, look-alike links, and too-good-to-be-true offers. This analysis runs entirely in your browser, so it is instant, free, and private: nothing you paste is sent anywhere.

Why privacy comes first

Scam messages often contain personal information, and the people most worried about scams have the most reason to be cautious about where their data goes. That is why the analysis happens on your device and nothing is stored. We built the tool so that we ourselves never see what you paste.

What it can and can't do

This is an informational aid, not a definitive verdict and not legal, financial, or security advice. Scammers constantly change their wording, so a clean result is never a guarantee that a message is safe. When something feels off, verify through an independent, official channel — and if you've already lost money or shared details, contact your bank and local authorities promptly.
